I just started and finished
The Kite Runner this weekend
. Right after J-Mo gave it to me for a birthday gift, the school told us that the author will be visiting our school for a community presentation, and we have first chance at seats. So, I figured I better get it read before he visits next month. The AP kids are reading it; maybe that is why they chose our school. Apparently, it was sort of tricky getting it approved my the school book approvers. After reading it, I can see why. There are some zinger-parts in there.
Overall, I really liked it. It read so fast, because he wrote in a manner that just made you so anxious to know how the story would unfold. It is a great story about relationships, but it also is very interesting because of background and introspect of Afghanistan history.
