Birthday In Style

Friday night we had a traditional birthday gathering for myself with our family of friends over at our house. We had food, drinks, and gifts. The party really got started at about 9:30 when we headed off to the BINGO hall! Yeah, that's right, I was down for some birthday bingo.

Let me tell all you doubters that bingo = good times. We went to a bingo hall I'd never been to before, so we didn't really know the rules and such. But, once we found out that it was BYOB and you could bring in food and coolers, we were sold. There were about 12 of us there playing our little bingo hearts out with the certified dobbers, except J-Rock used the computer - yes bingo has gone high tech.

The payouts range from $250-$750, but none of us won. Good thing it is cheap to play or there might have been some sad folks. The best part of Bingo is the people watching. I LOVE the crazies. There were people in wheelchairs, walkers, old people, kids, fat people, asians; basically, you name it and it was there. Pure greatness.

In summary, my birthday was awesome. Bingo is awesome.

just my opinion

I am going to say that women wear underwear. Men wear underwear. We are equal. Women DO NOT wear panties. Yes, this is my opinion. But, I just think the term panties is sexist. How can we have a president of the united states be a women if she wears panties? Men in congress wouldn't be working on task, they would be saying, "do you think she's wearing panties?" Gross.

Last night I was talking with some people about the "top 5" list. You know, the scenario list of "Who would you go out with/marry if you had your choice of anyone in the world, not counting your current spouse whom you love dearly and would never really leave?" Hot Guy #1: Jude "no flaws" Law. I have been his band wagon since I first saw him in Gattaca many years ago.

Nick Lachey is current hot guy #2. He's got great hair, he's buff, he's like a regular guy besides the fact that he's famous. He's hot.

Val Kilmer is sort of old school but sort of not. He gets his own catagory....just plain good looking. I loved him in The Saint, Batman, and even in Top Gun.

Old School Hot Guy #1: Steve Timmons. No this isn't an old picture of Scott. But, Steve Timmons does have red hair and is about the same height. Steve was an olympic volleyball player and a pro beach player known for his flat top. Once again....early 90's hottie.

Old School Hot Guy #2: Dolph Lungren. You migh remember him from Rock IV or you might not remember him at all. But, in the early 90's, this guy was hot.

Dog Days of Summer

I am sick; sick as a dog I tell you. As a result, I have not posted anything. I've never been sick in the middle of summer before, but I guess there is a first time for everything. After 4 days of feeling horrible, I still feel horrible, so I may go to the doctor soon. Thank you, I'm out.

TV TIME

Scott and I got chosen to fill out booklet for the Nielsen TV Ratings. We were pretty excited. They called me on the phone and asked if I wanted to do the survey, and I said yes. Two days ago we got our little TV booklets to fill out; one for each TV in the house. I'm in charge of the bedroom book and Scott is in charge of the living room book, since that is where our respective TiVOs are located. They sent us $10 CASH along with the books. Cool huh?!

Yeah, anyway, we began our books last night. We have to keep them for a week. Mine looked like this:

7-8am: Today Show - NBC
8-9pm: From Conception to Birth - Discovery
9-9:30pm: Being Bobby Brown (WHEELS OFF by the way) I recommend it for those of you who like train wrecks.
9:30-11:00pm: TIVO'd Judge Judy (4 episodes). I can't get enough people!

3 Day Weekends Rule

The 4th of July lasted for 3 days this year and that was fine with me. The weekend with Dee Ann and Mari Alice arriving in Dallas for 2 days of adventure that began in Ft. Worth at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame and Museum. No, I didn't know that this exsisted, and I probably would have never gone if I had. It took two ranch women to come to town to show me the way to "the hall." It was pretty cool. The highlight was Dee Ann identifying a photo of her "Nana" from 45 years ago at a big horse show. After that we did a little Stockyard shopping then headed back to Big D for the night.

We had a good time the entire weekend. Canton delivered some fine goods on Sunday, plus fireworks and tailgating was bueno that night in Addison. The 4th of July was actually spent just relaxing in the pool to escape the 100 degrees. Anyway, I just thought I'd write a little bit about the weekend. Oh, I almost forgot: we saw War of The Worlds: I give it 2 stars. Not worth the full price. Wait for the $1 theater.
